I have an important message...
Hello everyone!
The reason, I'm writing this message is because I’ve been thinking a lot about the future of my project...
I’m determined to see it through to the end,
But I’ve noticed that as the days...months go by, fewer and fewer people seem to be interested. I haven’t had any views in the past few days (and only like 5 to 10 views in a week if I'm lucky). The algorithm on itch.io means that when a game is released, it’s immediately highlighted, leading to a spike in views and downloads, but over time, I’ve seen very little (if any) views and even fewer downloads.
RIP Mysteries of the Twos XD
Even before this happened, I was receiving very little feedback on what I was doing (no comments or ratings, for example). I even tried promoting it on every social medias I have, (reddit included)...
It’s hard to know what people think of my project, and believe me,
This project means a lot to me...
So, I’ve made a big decision:
I’m temporarily removing Mysteries of Twos.
...But....
This is not permanent !
I’ve thought a lot about what might be lacking in the game’s design that has led to such little interest, and in my opinion, there are several points:
-The arts: The backgrounds aren’t really top-level, and I admit it (the room, the desk, and the bed are just cubes XD). I’m far from being a professional artist, but creating my game from A to Z has always been my motto. I don’t want to pay someone to work on my game, so I’m doing everything myself, which is why the quality may not be the best.
I want to improve some of the backgrounds (and notably creating my own "settings", "load" and "save" scenes.)
- Voices: The japanese voices you hear are from text to speech websites... so yeah very VERY poor quality XD. But I can't afford to pay voice actors, that's why I used those websites...
For those who played Yann, my other game, you may know that I created Yann's voice using a site called "ElevenLabs," which allows you to modify your voice. I used this concept to create Yann's voice.
The result is much more natural and realistic than the voices used in Mysteries of Twos, and the reason is simple: the voice base is the human voice—specifically, mine—then we use a voice changer that tries to maintain the intonation and emotions as accurately as possible. I plan to use this system to redo the voices of the characters (which will be in English), but it will take time.
- Cutting my game into several parts: Before posting this game in multiple parts three years ago, I had originally completed it as a single installment up to the revelation of the kidnapper (who he is), so let’s say, at the climax of the game XD. Then... I lost all the game files, which became corrupted for reasons I still don’t know. My conclusion was that the game’s base was too heavy, so to prevent it from becoming corrupted again, I decided to split the game into multiple parts (which also serves a purpose for the story).
After considering all these points...
I’ve decided to withdraw my project from public view to focus on its improvement.
I’m going to essentially remodel and update the game, but I want to emphasize that I won’t be changing the story at all.
I made this important decision because...
I want to give my project a chance.
I don’t want to see it disappear... I don’t want to see it die...
It means a lot to me, and I want to put all the chances on my side to have no regrets !
Ideally, yes, I would like people to be able to experience the entire story (and the messages that are dear to me and that I want to convey...), but above all, I want to finish this game and include everything I wish to put into it !
I'll restrict access to Mysteries of the Twos pages (prologue and first part) on Monday, so you can all have a chance to read this message :) (you can also write a comment if you like !)

Aw c'est dommage mais je comprends surtout après avoir vu votre situation avec les sauvegardes du jeu :(
J'avais joué récemment aux deux chapitres publiés et j'avais pas mal aimée (je suis investie a cause de la fin du chapitre 1 haha), je ne sais pas si vous avez fait la promotion sur la page reddit otome comme beaucoup aiment les indies la bas.
J'espère tout de même que ce projet atteindra son objectif un jour et j'attendrai la sortie de celui ci même si ça prendra le temps qu'il faut :) ! J'ai aussi vu votre vidéo adressée a votre soeur et je lui souhaite bonne chance pour le bac et plein de bonheur a vous deux <333 !!

Oui j'ai essayé (assez récent), j'ai eu quelques visites mais rien de comparable aux autres jeux de types "yanderes" proposés sur itch...
Ça n'a pas été une décision facile, mais je me dis que c'est un pas en arrière pour mieux rebondir ! Cela fait deux ans que j'ai posté le prologue et plus d'un an pour la première partie, je savais bien que les designs des arrières plans et les "voix" pouvaient gêner, mais à l'époque je ne savais pas tellement comment améliorer le jeu avec mes moyens... le temps a passé et maintenant je sais un peu plus ce que je peux faire pour rendre le jeu visuellement plus "regardable XD" et surtout plus personnel.
Notamment en créant mes propres scènes de save, load et settings, améliorer certains backgrounds et modifier les voix.
On verra si ces modifications apportent ou non une plus value, et même si la popularité du jeu reste en berne même après ça, je serais plus fière de ce que j'ai sorti et produit, car la qualité sera pour moi meilleur et j'aurais donné à mon projet toutes les chances de "briller"
Au final l'important c'est de nous satisfaire nous même en tant que créateurs pour faire plaisir au public ensuite :D
